About Studio EL:
Q: What is Studio EL?

A: Studio EL is a collection of archival fine art prints that are custom printed to size and specification. The sizing, substrate and finish is determined by the client while the artwork is sourced by our trend-setting creative team. Whether the project calls for a multiple prints in a boutique hotel, a mural for a corporate lobby or an intimate portrait for over the mantel, the Studio EL Collection is curated to fit your specific needs.

Q: Can anyone purchase prints from SEL?

A: No. We are a wholesale only company and sell direct to the trade.

Q: What can the images I select be printed on?

A: Every piece is printed to order on your choice of substrate. The paper offerings are a fine art paper, with texture, or smooth photo gloss. Our canvas offerings include unstretched, stretched on 2" stretchers with gallery wrapped borders, puncture-resistant contract canvas or edge framed canvas (EFC) in one of five finishes. Most editions are also available on brushed aluminum, clear acrylic, opaque acrylic, natural birchwood and sustainable bamboo with a ready to hang backing option. Q: Do you offer samples?

A: Yes. We sell a sample package which includes (1) 12x12 sample of each of the 11 substrates Studio EL offers. The Sample Kits are $150 for the set. Contact your sales representative for available imagery.

Q: How do I see pricing or register for an account?

A: Once you are logged in you can get pricing on our website. To login, you must first create an account. Please fill out the form and a link will be sent to the email address you provide to verify your address. Follow the link and choose a password to begin to use the site. Registration can take up to 24 hours. For immediate pricing contact your sales representative.

Q: How do I find what I am looking for?

A: Go to our advanced search where you can search by Artist, Color, Subject, Keyword, Orientation, and Publication Type. If you know the reference number (i.e., TR12345) of the item you are looking for simply enter it into the key word field and click submit.

Use our Sourcebooks to help curate a portfolio based on project type and our Subject page will help you find images based on subject.

Q: Can I email an image from the website?

A: Yes. When you are logged in, click "email image" underneath the image and a form will appear. Simply fill out and send. The message will come directly from whatever email you used to set up your account.

Q: Can I curate my own portfolios?

A: Yes. Once you are registered and logged in you can access the Portfolio page.

To set up your first portfolio, visit the Portfolio page, use the form to add portfolio name and description and then click on the "make new portfolio" button. Next, select your new portfolio from the icon shown at the left. A new page will display stating that you do not yet have images in your portfolio. Click on the link, "Add Images to Your Portfolio." This link will take you the collections page where you can then navigate to the collection of your choice.

All imagery includes a drop down menu directly underneath the image that allows you to choose a portfolio and add that image. Select the portfolio you would like and the image is now included. To preview your portfolio, click on my portfolio at the top menu bar and all of your portfolios will be displayed. You must be logged in for this option.

To send a portfolio, open the portfolio and click on "Email" underneath the thumbnail images. A form will appear. Simply fill out and click on send. You can keep as many Portfolios as you like for as long as you like.

A: Yes, we have a page with install photos of each product we offer which will be available online soon. Check back.

Q: I don't understand how the hardware works.

A: We adhere an aluminum C-channel frame to Aluminum, Bamboo, Birch and Glossy Acrylic (GLA). These frames accept standard and security hardware.

Our translucent Acrylic is sold with stand-off hardware.

Stretched Canvas comes with saw-tooth hardware and a security option is available.

To see images please select an image, and click "LARGER VIEW". From there on the lower right of the screen, numbers represent "LARGER VIEW" imagery.

Q: How much will my artwork weigh?

A: Contact your sales representative for estimated product weights.

Q: Can I make my art as large as I want?

A: Unfortunately, no. Each substrate has a maximum size based on materials and yields. We have a list of maximum sizes for each product, contact your sales representative with questions.

Q: Will SEL print my image for me?

A: Typically, no. However, we are flexible based on the project. Contact your sales representative for more information.

Q: Can I hang my art outside?

A: Studio EL suggests hanging art in optimal conditions, ie. Indoors, climate controlled and out of direct sunlight. However, our Aluminum product is moisture resistant and could be hung outdoors. Studio EL cannot guarantee the longevity on any artwork hung outside based on varying climate conditions.

Q: Is your canvas UV protected?

A: Our canvases and inks are archival and colorfast. Like most art, longevity depends on the environment in which is stored. Our Contract Canvas and Edge framed Canvas both have an extra coating of UV resistant varnish to give it more UV resistance.

Q: Are you products fire rated per my state's regulations?

A: Standards for fire safety vary from state to state. We do not offer our products fire rated.
