Donna Geissler earned her BA in journalism at Indiana University. It was during her last semester there that she took an introductory course in black-and-white photography. This class introduced her to a life long passion. After years of pursing a career in another direction, she decided to revisit the darkroom to explore her discovery of hand painted black-and-white photography. Soon digital photography proved to allow more freedom for her to create her own perspective of an image. Geissler's work is unique in her process. She uses only natural light to create the original image, and then adds finishing touches digitally. This technique yields soft, ethereal yet distinctive floral and still life images.
