Garden Spririts, represents artist Lois Bender's celebration of art, nature and life. Utilizing the environment as her inspiration, she creates a fusion of color, silhouette, light shadow and pattern; a visual mixture of dynamic design, image and mystery. Whether in her photography or painting, Lois has an eye for the evergy, synergy and the feel of her subjects. Her life view changed dramatically after a major turning point 20 years ago when she survived leukemia. In gratitude and appreciation, her art began to express well-being, and the urgency of seeing the beauty around us. Lois states, "Seeing and using our eyes to enjoy what's around us...and being creative...it's all healing." Her art and design expresses this exuberance for life and her desire to share a vision of well-being through the beauty of nature. Lois currently teaches are and watercolor privately in the Hamptons at the Sag Harbor Florist, sharing her love of flowers and watercolors. She also holds classes at Gurney's Inn, Montauk, taling in the beaches, sunsets and general well-being.
